Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #216574

← וְלֹא ⌂ → 2 Chr 35 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 22 And_not Yʼoshiyyāh he_turned face_of_his from_him/it if/because to_fight in/on/over_him/it he_disguised_himself and_not he_listened to the_words/messages_of Nəkō from_the_mouth_of god and_he_went to_do_battle in_the_valley_of Məgiddōn. (CH2 35:22)

OET-RV: 22 However, Yoshiyah wouldn’t listen, but disguised himself before going into battle. He didn’t listen to Neko even though he was speaking for God, so he went to fight on the Megiddon plain. (CH2 35:22)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וְלֹא’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=Tn PoS=negative_particle)
is always and only glossed as ‘and_not’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘וְ’, ‘לֹא’’ have only one gloss: ‘and=not’.
