Open English Translation (OET)

Hebrew wordlink #348373

← וַֽאֲשֶׁר ⌂ → Eze 33 ║ ═

Key: khaki:verbs.
Bold in each verse marks the word or words linked to that example’s source word, where an alignment is available.
Note: Automatic aligning of the OET-RV to the LV is done by some temporary software, hence the RV alignments are incomplete (and may occasionally be wrong). An unbolded RV line may have no alignment for this word. See the OET key for other text colours and marks.

OET-LV: 27 thus you_will_say to_them thus my_master YHWH he_says by_the_life of_me if not those_who are_in_places by_sword they_will_fall and_the_one_who is_on the_surface_of the_field to_animal[s] I_will_give_him to_eat_him and_which are_in_strongholds and_in_caves by_pestilence they_will_die. (EZE 33:27)

OET-RV: 27 Tell them that the master Yahweh says this: As I live, surely the ones in the ruins will be killed by swords, and I’ll give those in the countryside to the wild animals as food, and those in fortresses and in caves will die from deadly diseases. (EZE 33:27)

Note: These word pages enable you to click through to the Open Scriptures Hebrew Bible (OSHB) that the Open English Translation Old Testament is translated from. The OSHB is based on the Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC). (We are still searching for a digitized facsimile of the Leningradensis manuscript that we can easily link to. See this list and this archive for now.) This is all part of the commitment of the Open English Translation team to be transparent about all levels of the Bible translation process right back to the original manuscripts.

The word form ‘וַֽאֲשֶׁר’ (Morphology=C PoS=conjunction
 Morphology=Tr PoS=relative_particle)
is always and only glossed as ‘and, [the_one]_who’.

The various word forms of the root word (lemma) ‘Lemmas=‘וְ’, ‘אֲשֶׁר’’ have 3 different glosses: ‘and,[the_one]_who’, ‘and,which’, ‘and_[that],which’.
