8:1 The basket-of-fruit vision
8 This is what my master Yahweh showed me: See this basketful of summer fruit. 2 Then he asked, “What do you see, Amos?”
“A basket of summer fruit,” I said.
Then Yahweh told me, “The end has come for my people Yisrael. I won’t spare them any longer. 3 The songs of the temple will become wailings on that day.”
That’s the declaration of my master Yahweh.
“Many dead bodies—they’re thrown everywhere.
Then silence.”
