Making promises to God

Deu 23:21–25

21When you make a vow to your god Yahweh, don’t put off fulfilling it, because he will hold you accountable and not doing it would count as disobeying him. 22However of course, if you don’t make any vows, then you won’t be guilty, 23but if you’ve spoken your promise out loud to your god Yahweh, then you’re obligated to keep it.

24If you’re walking through someone else’s vineyard, you can eat as many grapes as you like, but you mustn’t pick any to take away in a container. 25Similarly, if you’re going through someone else’s field of grain, you can crunch a few kernels, but you mustn’t cut off any of the stalks.
