122 A song by David while walking uphill to Yerushalem.
122 I was happy when they said to me,
“Let’s go to Yahweh’s house.”
2 Yerushalem, our feet are standing inside your gates—
3 Yerushalem, the city that was built with its protective walls
4 which is where Yahweh’s tribes went up to
following what was revealed to Yisrael to give thanks to Yahweh,
5 because judgement thrones remained there—
thrones of David’s descendants.
6 Pray for Yerushalem to have peace and prosperity.
≈May those who love Yerushalem live at ease.
7 May there be peace within your walls—
peace within your fortresses.
8 For the sake of my friends and relatives
I’ll say, “May there be peace within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of our God Yahweh
I’ll strive for the good of Yerushalem.
