Song 122/Wanting peace for Yerushalem

Psa 122:1–9

122 A song by David while walking uphill to Yerushalem.

122I was happy when they said to me,

“Let’s go to Yahweh’s house.”

2Yerushalem, our feet are standing inside your gates—

3Yerushalem, the city that was built with its protective walls

4which is where Yahweh’s tribes went up to

following what was revealed to Israel to give thanks to Yahweh,

5because judgement thrones remained there—

thrones of David’s descendants.

6Pray for Yerushalem to have peace and prosperity.

May those who love Yerushalem live at ease.

7May there be peace within your walls—

peace within your fortresses.

8For the sake of my friends and relatives

I’ll say, “May there be peace within you.”

9For the sake of the house of our God Yahweh

I’ll strive for the good of Yerushalem.
