Bishops Bible (1568, 1602).

(coming).
Archbishop Matthew Parker organised this revision of the Great Bible, first published in 1568, for use in Church of England worship. He divided the work among several scholars, many of them bishops, giving the translation its name. The project also offered a church alternative to the popular Geneva Bible and its controversial explanatory notes. It became a standard church Bible and later the prescribed starting text for the King James translators, although it never matched Geneva’s popularity among private readers.
