Jeremiah 22

22The Eternal bade me go down to the palace of the king of Judah and there deliver this message: 2“Listen to the word of the Eternal, O king of Judah, seated on the throne of David--you and your officers and your people who pass through these gates. 3This is the Eternal’s order: ‘Govern justly and fairly, rescue the victims of oppression, never wrong nor ill-treat a resident alien, an orphan, or a widow, and never shed innocent blood in this place. 4If you carry out this loyally, then kings of David’s dynasty, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their officers and people shall pass these palace gates. 5But if you will not listen to this order, then I swear by myself (the Eternal declares) that this palace shall be laid in ruins.’
