This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

The vision of Yerushalem expanded

Zec 2:1–5

2Then I looked up, and wow, I saw a man holding a measuring line[fn] 2and I asked him, “Where are you going?”

“To measure Yerushalem,” he replied, “and to determine its width and length.”

3Then to my surprise, the messenger who’d talked with me went away and another messenger went out to meet him 4and told him, “Run and speak to that young man, saying: Yerushalem won’t need city walls because there’ll be so many people and animals within it. 5Yahweh declares that he’ll become a wall of fire around it and will become the splendour in the middle of it.

2:1 The modern equivalent would be a tape measure.
