14 and_sent Mosheh messengers from_Kadesh to the _king of _ʼEdōm thus he _says your(ms)_brother/kindred Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) you you _know DOM all the_hardship which befallen_us.
15 And_went _down fathers_our Miʦərayim/(Egypt)_to and_lived in/on/at/with_Miʦərayim days many and_mistreated to/for_us Miʦərayim and_to_fathers_our.
16 And_cried _out to Yahweh and_he/it _listened voice_our and_sent an _angel and_brought _out_us of_Miʦərayim and_see/lo/see we in/on/at/with_Kadesh (the)_city of _the _outskirt[s] territory_your.
17 Let _us _pass please in/on/at/with_land_your not we _will _pass in/on/at/with_field and_in/on/at/with_vineyard and_not we _will _drink water of _a _well the _way the_king we _will _go not we _will _turn _aside right _hand and_left until that we _will _pass _through territory_your.
18 And_he/it _said to_him/it ʼEdōm not you _will _pass in/on/at/with_us lest in/on/at/with_sword I _should _come _out to_against_you.
19 And_they _said to_him/it the _people of _Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel)[fn] in/on/at/with_main _road we _will _go _up and_if water_your we _will _drink I and_livestock_our and_pay price_it only there _[is]_not a _thing in/on/at/with_foot_us let _me _pass _through.
20 And_he/it _said not you _will _pass _through and_he/it _went _out ʼEdōm to_against_them in/on/at/with_army massive and_in/on/at/with_hand strong.
21 And_refused ʼEdōm to _permit DOM Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) to _pass in/on/at/with_territory_their and_turned _away Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) from_near_them.
