This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
7:14 Evil comes from inside a person
14 Yeshua called out to the crowd, “Everyone listen to me carefully: 15 Nothing that enters your mouth makes you guilty in God’s eyes. It’s what comes out of you that demonstrates your culpability.”
16 ◘ 17 When Yeshua came back inside, his apprentices asked him what he meant. 18 But he scolded them, “Can’t you understand something so simple! Can’t you see that anything from the outside that enters your body doesn’t make you guilty in God’s sight, 19 because it doesn’t enter your mind but merely goes into your stomach and ends up in the toilet.” (By saying this he clearly showed that is was ok for Jews to eat any food.)
20 He continued, “It’s what comes out of you that makes you guilty in God’s eyes.21-22 21-22That’s because evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, arrogance, lust, slander, pride, and foolishness all come from inside people’s hearts and minds. 23 So it’s the evil that’s inside a person and comes out that makes them guilty in God’s eyes.”
15:10 True ‘dirtiness’
10 Then Yeshua called out to the crowd, “Listen carefully so you can understand this: 11 It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, but rather, it’s what comes out of your mouth.”
12 His followers then came up to him and told him, “You know that the Pharisees were offended by what you just said?”
13 “Every plant,” Yeshua answered, “that wasn’t planted by my heavenly father will get pulled out. 14 [ref]Just ignore them. They are blind guides, and if blind people are leading the blind, both of them will stumble into a pit.”
15 But Peter asked him, “So interpret the parable for us.”
16 “Can’t you all figure it out yet?” Yeshua replied. 17 Can’t you all see that everything that goes into your mouth, goes down into your stomach and then eventually ends up in the toilet? 18 [ref]But the things that come out of your mouth are coming from your mind and that’s what defiles a person. 19 Because lust, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, stealing, falsely accusing and slander, these all come of the mind. 20 It’s those things that defile a person, not eating without ceremonially washing your hands.”
Luk 6:39:
39 [ref]Then Yeshua told them a parable: “Surely a blind person can’t be a guide for someone else who’s blind. Won’t both of them fall into a ditch?
Mat 12:34:
34 [ref]You brood of snakes! You’re evil inside so why do you think you can say anything that’s good because your mouths speak out of what’s plentiful in your hearts.
