Reuven’s descendants

26:5 Reuven’s descendants

5Reuven was Yisrael’s eldest son, and his descendants came via his sons Hanok, Pallu, 6Hetsron, and Karmi. 7Those clans added up to 43,730 men. 8Pallu’s son was Eliav, 9and Eliav’s son were Nemuel, Datan, and Aviram. (That was the Datan and Aviram who were the leaders that rebelled[ref] against Mosheh and Aharon when they joined Korah’s rebellion against Yahweh. 10Then the earth split open and swallowed them and Korah. Yahweh had also sent a fire that consumed 250 men, and they became a warning sign. 11However, Korah’s descendants hadn’t died then.)
