Jesus Cleanses the Temple Courts

45 Then Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were selling [fn]and buying there. 46 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house [fn]is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”

47 Every day Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, but the chief priests and the scribes were seeking to destroy him, and so were the prominent leaders among the people. 48 But they could not figure out what to do, for all the people were hanging on his every word as they listened to him.
