Oil for the lamps

Lev 24:1–4

Exo 27:20–21

24Then Yahweh told Mosheh:

2Order the Israelis to bring you pressed olive oil that’s pure, to supply lamps to give continual light. 3The high priest (Aharon) must take care of them from evening until the morning to burn continually in front of Yahweh. That’s a permanent requirement that will continue throughout the generations. 4He will arrange the lamps continually on the lampstand in front of Yahweh.

20Order the Israelis to bring you pure, pressed olive oil for the lamps so they can be kept burning continually. 21In the outer portion of the sacred tent (outside the curtain where the sacred box is kept), Aharon and his sons must attend to the lampstand in front of Yahweh from evening to morning. This regulation will apply continually to all future generations of Israelis.
