Song 125/Against wicked rulers

Psa 125:1–5

125 A song for walking uphill to Yerushalem.

125Those who trust in Yahweh

are like Mt. Tsiyyon (Zion) which can’t be shaken—enduring forever.

2Just like the mountains surround Yerushalem,

so too Yahweh surrounds his people, both now and forever.

3Wicked rulers must not settle on the land alloted to the righteous,

otherwise those righteous people might end up doing something that they shouldn’t do.

4Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good

and to those who strive to do what is right.

5But as for those who choose to turn to crooked paths,

Yahweh will banish them along with those who do evil.

May peace be on Yisra’el.
