Healing a Blind Man

Healing a Blind Man

35As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. 36When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was going on. 37They told him, “Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.” 38So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him, 41“What do you want me to do for you?” He replied, “Lord, let me see again.” 42Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” 43And immediately he regained his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they too gave praise to God.

19Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it. 2Now a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3He was trying to get a look at Jesus, but being a short man he could not see over the crowd. 4So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, because I must stay at your house today.” 6So he came down quickly and welcomed Jesus joyfully. 7And when the people saw it, they all complained, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” 8But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!” 9Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham! 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
