Don’t give up on your faith

This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

Readers’ Version

Literal Version

10:19 Don’t give up on your faith

19Therefore brothers and sisters, we have confidence to enter the holy place by Yeshua’s blood20a new and life-giving path that he initiated for us to go through the curtain, which is his flesh. 21Since we have an incredible priest presiding over God’s house, 22we can approach God with sincere hearts in full assurance due to our faith, having our hearts sprinkled to clean us from our guilty consciences and with our bodies having been washed in clean water.[ref] 23We can hold onto the confession of our unwavering hope because the one who made the promise is faithful, 24and we can be considering how to provoke each other to show love and to do good things—25not giving up meeting together as some have, but rather encouraging each other even more as you all see the day of judgement coming closer.

26If we keep on sinning after learning about the truth, then there’s no sacrifice left for our sins, 27but the certain expectation of fearful judgement and of a fiery anger that will consume the god-haters.[ref] 28Anyone who rejected Moses’ law would receive the death sentence without mercy by the strength of two or three witnesses,[ref] 29so how much more severe punishment do you all expect might be considered appropriate for someone who trampled God’s son underfoot and who has considered the blood of the agreement as cheap[ref] and who has insulted the spirit of grace? 30Yes, we know who said,[ref] ‘Vengeance is mine—I’m the one who’ll repay them,’ and again, ‘The master will be judging his people.’ 31It’s a scary thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

32Remember those earlier days when you first learnt about Messiah and how you endured a lot of suffering33sometimes being publicly displayed with derision and persecution, and at other times helping others who were being treated like that. 34You all sympathised with those who were imprisoned and cheerfully accepted the confiscation of your possessions because you knew that you have a better possession that will endure on. 35So then, don’t toss away your boldness, because it’ll lead to a sizeable reward. 36Rather you need to endure so that when you’ve done what God wants, you’ll all receive back what was promised 37because:[ref]

‘In still a little while the one coming will come,

and won’t be delaying.’

38And:

My righteous one will be living by faith.

If he retreats, my soul won’t be pleased with him.’

39But we aren’t from those retreating back to destruction, but from those with faith that preserves the soul.

19Therefore having, brothers, confidence for the entrance of_the holy places by the blood of_Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), 20which he_dedicated for_us a_way recent and living through the curtain, this is of_the flesh of_him, 21and a_priest great over the house of_ the _god, 22we_may_be_approaching with a_true heart in full_assurance of_faith, having_been_sprinkled our hearts from a_conscience evil, and having_been_washed our body in_water pure.
23We_may_be_retaining the confession of_our hope unwavering, because/for faithful is the one having_promised, 24and we_may_be_observing one_another toward provocation to_love and to_good works, 25not abandoning the gathering_together of_ourselves, as the_custom with_some, but exhorting also by_so_much more, with_as_much_as you_all_are_seeing nearing the day.
26For/Because willingly sinning of_us after the time to_receive the knowledge of_the truth, no_longer for sins is_being_retained a_sacrifice, 27but fearful a_certain expectation of_judgment, and of_fire fury to_be_consuming going the hostiles.
28Having_rejecting anyone the_law of_Mōsaʸs/(Mosheh) without two compassions by or three witnesses is_dying_off.
29By_how_much you_all_are_supposing of_worse he_will_be_being_considered_worthy punishment, the one the son of_ the _god having_trampled, and the blood of_the covenant common having_considered, by which he_was_sanctified, and the spirit of_ the _grace having_insulted.
30For/Because we_have_known the one having_said:
To_me vengeance is, I will_be_repaying, and again:
Will_be_judging the_master the people of_him.
31A_fearful thing which to_fall_in into the_hands of_god the_living it_is.
32But be_being_reminded of_the earlier days, in which having_been_enlightened a_great competition endured of_sufferings, 33this on_one_hand by_derisions both and tribulations being_publicly_exposed, on_the_other_hand this partners of_the ones thus being_conducted them having_been_become.
34For/Because both with_the prisoners you_all_sympathized, and the theft of_the things possessing of_you_all with joy you_all_accepted, knowing to_be_having yourselves a_better possession, and remaining.
35Not therefore you_all_may_throw_away the boldness of_you_all, which is_having a_great reward.
36For/Because of_endurance you_all_are_having need, in_order_that the will of_ the _god having_done, you_all_may_receive_back the promise.
37For/Because still little as_much_as, as_much_as the one coming will_be_coming, and not will_be_delaying.
38And the righteous one of_me by faith will_be_living, and if he_may_shrink_back, not is_taking_pleasure the soul of_me in him.
39But we not are of_shrinking_back to destruction, but of_faith to the_procuring of_the_soul.
