13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3 And if I give away all my possessions and [if][fn] I hand over my body so that I may {boast},[fn] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, [love][fn] does not boast, it is not puffed up, 5 it does not behave indecently, it does not seek its own, it is not provoked, it does not keep a record of wrongs, 6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never {fails};[fn] [but][fn] whether there are prophecies, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9 [For][fn] We know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, [[then]][fn] the partial will be done away with.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child; [[but]][fn] when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For [now][fn] we see through a mirror, in a riddle, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.
