AICNT 1COR Chapter 13

1COR 13 ©

13If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3And if I give away all my possessions and if I hand over my body so that I may {boast},[fn] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, [love] does not boast, it is not puffed up, 5it does not behave indecently, it does not seek its own, it is not provoked, it does not keep a record of wrongs, 6it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8Love never {fails};[fn] but whether there are prophecies, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9[For][fn] We know in part and we prophesy in part; 10but when the perfect comes, [[then]][fn] the partial will be done away with.

11When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I reasoned as a child; when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see through a mirror, in a riddle, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.
