The Greatest Commandment

34 Now when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked Jesus a question to test him: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘Yoʋ shall love the Lord yoʋr God with all yoʋr heart, with all yoʋr soul, and with all yoʋr mind.’ 38 This is the [fn]most important and greatest commandment. 39 And a second [fn]like it is this: ‘Yoʋ shall love yoʋr neighbor as yoʋrself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
