This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
11 Yes, Yahweh spoke strongly to me, and warned me not to behave like other people, saying, 12 “Don’t say ‘conspiracy’ everyone time that other people do, and don’t be afraid when they’re afraid, and don’t live in dread.[ref] 13 Only honour army commander Yahweh, and be concerned about him and fear him. 14 He’ll be like your safe retreat. He’ll be both the stone that strikes and the rock that makes both Yisrael and Yehudah stumble, and like a trap for the inhabitants of Yerushalem.[ref] 15 Many people will stumble over that stone and that rock and fall and be broken, or be snared and captured.”
1Pe 3:14-15:
14 [ref]but even if some of you do suffer because of your godliness, you will be blessed. Don’t be scared or disturbed because of your fear of them, 15 but revere the messiah as the master of your hearts. Always be ready to explain the hope that you all have if anyone asks,
1Pe 2:8:
‘A stone that people stumble over
and a rock that upsets people.’
They stumble because they won’t believe in the message—this is what was appointed for them.
