13:0 A prayer for help
13 For the musical director: a song by David.
13 Yahweh, for how long will you keep forgetting about me?
For how long will you hide yourself from me?
2 How long must I worry?
≈Must I have grief in my heart all day?
≈How long will my enemy gloat over me?
3 Look at me and answer me, Yahweh my God.
Restore my strength, or I’ll die in my sleep.
4 Don’t let my enemy boast that they’ve defeated me,
otherwise my enemies will celebrate when I’m defeated.
5 But I’ve trusted in your loyal commitment.
I’m happy inside because you’ve saved me.
6 I’ll sing to Yahweh because he’s been generous to me.
