AICNT REV Chapter 4

REV 4 ©

4After these things, I saw, and behold, a door {was opened}[fn] in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place.”

After these things 2[[and]][fn] immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one seated on the throne, 3[and the one seated was][fn] like the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and a rainbow around the throne, like the appearance of {an emerald}.[fn]

4Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones [[I saw]][fn] twenty-four elders seated, clothed in white garments, and [[they had]][fn] on their heads golden crowns.

5And from {the}[fn] throne proceed flashes of lightning, voices, and peals of thunder, and seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God, 6and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal.

In the midst of the throne and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.

7The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.

8The four living creatures, each having six wings, {full}[fn] of eyes around and within, and they do not rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.”

9And when the creatures give [glory and][fn] honor and thanks to the one seated on the throne, the one who lives forever and ever, [[amen,]][fn] 10the twenty-four elders [[also]][fn] will fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, [[amen,]][fn] and they will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11“You are worthy, our Lord and God,[fn] [[the Holy One,]][fn] to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed[fn] and were created.”
