121:1 Yahweh our protector

A song for climbing towards Yerushalem.

121 I look up towards the hills.

Where will my help come from?

2 My help comes from Yahweh

who made heaven and earth.

3 May he not allow your feet to slip.

May your protector stay alert.

4 Listen, Israel’s protector doesn’t doze or sleep.

5 Yahweh is your bodyguard.

≈Yahweh is beside you to shelter you.

6 Now the sun won’t harm you during the day,

≈or the moon at night-time.

7 Yahweh will protect you from all harm.

≈He will protect your life.

8 Yahweh will protect your comings and your goings

both now and then forever.
