OET-RV PSA Chapter 135

OETPSA 135 ©

This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

135:1A praise song

135Praise Yahweh—praise his name.

Praise him, you servants of Yahweh,

2who stand in the house of Yahweh

in the courtyards around our God’s house.

3Praise Yahweh, because he is good.

Sing praises to his name because it’s pleasant,

4because Yahweh has chosen Yakov for himself—

Yisra’el as his very own.

5You see, I myself know that Yahweh is great,

yes, our master is greater than all other gods.

6Yahweh does whatever he wants to do

in heaven and on the earth,

in the seas including all their deepest parts.

7He makes the clouds rise up from the end of the earth.

He makes lightning accompany the rain,

and brings the wind out of his storehouse.

8He struck Egypt’s firstborn males

both people and animals.[ref]

9He did miracles and amazing things in your country, Egypt,

against Far-oh (Pharaoh) and all his servants.

10He struck many nations

and killed powerful kings,

11Sihon king of the Amorites,

and Og king of Bashan,

and all the Canaanite kings.

12He gave their land as an inheritance—

an inheritance to his people Yisra’el.

13Your reputation lasts forever, Yahweh.

Your renown, Yahweh, endures from generation to generation

14because Yahweh judges his people,

and he’s compassionate towards his servants.

15The nations’ idols are silver and gold

the work of people’s hands.[ref]

16Those idols have mouths, but they can’t speak.

They have eyes, but they can’t see.

17They have ears, but they can’t hear,

and there’s no breath in their mouths.

18Those who make them will end up like them,

as will all those who put their trust in them.

19Descendants of Yisra’el, bless Yahweh.

Descendants of Aharon, bless Yahweh.

20Descendants of Levi, bless Yahweh.

All you who respect Yahweh, bless him.

21Blessed be Yahweh in Tsiyyon

he who lives in Yerushalem.

Praise Yahweh.
