2 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come proclaiming to you the [fn]testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I resolved to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4 And my word and my preaching were not with [fn]persuasive words of human wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not be based on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
