Psa 57:7–11

Psa 60:5–12

108 A song by David.

108I’ve made my decision, God.

I will sing, yes, I will sing praises with sincerity.

2Wake up, lute and harp—

I’ll wake up the dawn.

3I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the people groups.

I will sing praises to you among the nations

4because your loyal commitment is extends to the heavens

and your trustworthiness reaches to the skies.

5Be honoured, God, above the heavens,

and may your splendour be displayed across all the world.

6Use your power to answer me

so that those you love will be rescued.

7God has spoken from his sanctuary, “I will celebrate.

I will divide up Shekem and apportion out the Sukkot Valley.

8Gilead is mine, and Menashsheh is mine.

Efraim is my helmet and Yehudah is my scepter.

9Moab is my washbasin.

I’ll throw my sandal over Edom.

I’ll shout in triumph over Philistia.

10Who will bring me into the fortified city?

Who will lead me to Edom?”

11It seems that you’ve rejected us, God?

You don’t go into battle with our armies.

12Give us help against our enemy,

because human help is worthless.

13We’ll win with God’s help.

He will trample down our enemies.

7My heart is fixed, God, I’ve made my decision.

I will sing, yes, I’ll sing praises.

8Wake up, my honoured heart. Wake up, harp and other stringed instrument.

I’ll wake up the dawn.

9My master, I’ll give thanks to you among the peoples.

I’ll sing praises to you among the nations.

10because your loyal commitment is great—reaching to the heavens,

and your faithfulness to the clouds.

11May you be lifted up, God, above the skies.

May your splendour be seen by the whole world.

5Use your strength to rescue those you love

and answer us

6God has spoken from his sacred place, “I’ll celebrate.

I’ll divide Shekem

and apportion out the Sukkot Valley.

7Gilead is mine,

and Menashsheh (Manasseh) is mine.

Efraim/Yisrael also is my helmet.

Yehudah (Judah) is my scepter.

8Moab is my wash-basin.

I’ll toss my shoe on Edom to indicate my ownership of it.

I’ll shout triumphantly because of Philistia.”

9Who will bring me into the fortified city?

Who will lead me to Edom?

10But it seems that you’ve rejected us, God?

You don’t join our army when they go into battle.

11Give us help against our enemy,

because human help is worthless.

12We’ll win with God’s help.

He’ll trample our enemies down.
