One just the body ta but many part

This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

Literal Version

12:12 One just the body ta but many part

12Just like a human body is a unit but has many parts which are all components, no matter how many, making up that one body, so too is the messiah.[ref] 13Yes, in one spirit we were all immersed into one body, whether we were Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we all were given one spirit to drink. MEANING?

14Yes, indeed the body is not one part, but many. 15If your foot said, “Since I’m not a hand, I’m not part of the body,” that wouldn’t make it any less a part of the body, 16and if your ear said, “Since I’m not an eye, I’m not part of the body,” that wouldn’t make it any less a part of the body. 17If your whole body was an eye, how could you hear? But then, if your whole body was an ear, how could you smell anything? 18Actually, God has placed every part in our bodies exactly where he wanted to put them. 19If it was all just one part, how could it be a body? 20Yes, there’s many parts, but only one body.

21Your eye can’t tell your hand, “I don’t need you,” and your head can’t tell your feet, “I don’t need you.” 22On the contrary, the body parts that seem to be weaker are very vital, 23and those body parts that seem less honourable, we give them greater honour and hence our unpresentable body parts are treated with more modesty. 24Our presentable parts don’t have any need for that, but rather God has put the body together and he gave greater honour to the lesser parts 25so that there won’t be any division in the body, but its members should care equally for each other. 26So if one body part is hurting, all the parts hurt as well. If one body part is honoured, then all the parts are happy together.

27Now you all are the body of Christ, and each of you is a part of it. 28And indeed, God has appointed: 1/ missionaries, 2/ prophets, 3/ teachers, then doing miracles, healing others, helping others, guiding others, and speaking various languages[ref] 29Are everyone missionaries, or everyone prophets or teachers, or doing miracles? 30Does everyone have the gifts of healing, or speaking in other languages, or translating?

31But strive for the better gifts.

And now I’ll demonstrate a better way to you all:

12For/Because just_as the body one is, and members many is_having, but all the members of_the body, many being, one is body, thus also is the chosen_one/messiah.
13For/Because also in one spirit we all into one body were_immersed, whether Youdaiōns, or Hellaʸns, or slaves, or free, and all one spirit were_gave_to_drink.
14For/Because also the body not is one member, but many.
15If may_say the foot:
Because not I_am a_hand, not I_am of the body, not by this, not it_is of the body.
16And if may_say the ear:
Because not I_am an_eye, not I_am of the body, not by this, not it_is of the body.
17If all the body were an_eye, where is the hearing?
If all were hearing, where is the smelling?
18But now the god appointed the members, one each of_them in the body, as he_wanted.
19And if was the things all one member, where is the body?
20But now many on_one_hand one, on_the_other_hand members body.
21Not and is_able the eye to_say to_the hand:
Need of_you not I_am_having, or again the head to_the feet:
Need of_you_all not I_am_having.
22But by_much rather the supposing members of_the body weaker to_be_being, necessary is, 23and which we_are_supposing less_honourable to_be of_the body, around_these honour more_abundant we_are_putting_around, and the dishonourable of_us, propriety more_abundant is_having, 24and the the_prominent of_us, no need is_having.
But the god united_together the body, to_the members being_deficient, more_abundant having_given honour, 25in_order_that not there_may_be division in the body, but the same for one_another may_be_caring_for the members.
26And whether is_suffering one member, is_suffering_with it all the members, or is_being_glorified a_member, is_rejoicing_with it all the members.
27And you_all are the_body of_chosen_one/messiah, and members of part.
28And that indeed appointed the god in the assembly first ambassadors, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of_healings, helpers, guidance, kinds of_tongues.
29Not all ambassadors?
Not all prophets?
Not all teachers?
Not all miracles?
30Not all gifts are_having of_healings?
Not all with_tongues are_speaking?
Not all are_interpreting?
31But be_being_zealous for_the gifts the greater.
And still by an_excellent way, to_you_all I_am_showing.
