Luke 9:28–36

Mark 9:2–8

Mat 17:1–8

9:28 Yeshua chats with Moses and Eliyah

(Mark 9:2-8, Mat. 17:1-8)

28It was about eight days later that Yeshua took Peter and Yohan and Yacob, and climbed a hill to pray. 29While he was praying, the appearance of his face changed and his clothes turned brilliant white. 30Then, look, there were two men talking with him—Moses and Eliyah! 31Those two who’d been in heaven were talking about the end of his time here which was about to actioned in Yerusalem. 32Peter and the others had been exhausted and fallen asleep, but when they woke up they saw the radiance of Yeshua and the other two standing there with him, 33but when it was time for the two to leave, Peter said to Yeshua, “Master, it’s good that we’re here. We could make three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Eliyah.” (But he didn’t really know what he was saying.)

34While he was still speaking, a cloud appeared and enveloped them and they were afraid as they entered the fog. 35[ref]Then a voice came out of the cloud that said, “This is my son, the one that has been chosen. Listen to him.”

36By the time that the voice had spoken, they could only see Yeshua in front of them. After this event, they kept what had happened to themselves and didn’t tell anyone else about what they had seen.

9:2 Moses and Eliyah speak with Yeshua

(Mat. 17:1-13, Luke 9:28-36)

2[ref]Six days later Yeshua took Peter and Yacob and Yohan, and just the four of them went up onto a high hill. Then he was changed right in front of their eyes 3and his clothes turned incredibly shining white—whiter than any bleach could make them. 4And Eliyah and Moses appeared beside Yeshua and started talking with him. 5Peter said to Yeshua, “Teacher, it’s good that we’re here. Maybe we could make three shelters up here: one for you and one for Moses and one for Eliyah?” 6He said that because they were terrified and didn’t know what to say.

7[ref]Then a cloud came over the sun and a voice came out of the cloud saying, “This is my dear son. Listen to him.” 8When they looked around, they couldn’t see anyone else there any more, except for Yeshua himself.

17:1 Yeshua’s face shines brightly

(Mark 9:2-13, Luke 9:28-36)

17After six days, Yeshua took Peter, and Yacob and his brother Yohan, and they went up a high hill by themselves, 2and Yeshua was changed in front of them so that his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as white as the light. 3Then look, Moses and Eliyah appeared and they could see them talking with Yeshua. 4Then Peter spoke up and said to Yeshua, “Master, it’s good that we’re here. If you want, I could make three shelters here: one for you and one for Moses and one for Eliyah.”

5[ref]While he was still speaking, a bright cloud came over the top of them and wow, a voice came out of the cloud saying, “This is my dear son that I get great pleasure from. Just listen to him.”

6When the three apprentices heard the voice, they lay face down and were extremely scared. 7But Yeshua went across to them, and touching them he said, “Get up now and don’t be afraid,8and when they looked around, they didn’t see anyone other than Yeshua himself.
