The Burial of Jesus

The Burial of Jesus

57 When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who was himself also a disciple of Jesus. 58 He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. So Pilate commanded that the body be given to him. 59 Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in a rock. Then he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away. 61 Mary Magdalene was there, and so was the other Mary, sitting across from the tomb.
