Do Not Cause Yoʋr Brother to Stumble
13 Therefore let us no longer judge one another. Instead, resolve not to put any stumbling block or snare before your brother. 14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in and of itself, but it is unclean for anyone who considers it to be unclean. 15 If yoʋr brother is distressed by what yoʋ eat, yoʋ are no longer walking in love. Do not let what yoʋ eat destroy someone for whom Christ died. 16 And do not let what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 Anyone who serves Christ in [fn]these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. 19 So then, let us pursue what brings about peace and mutual edification. 20 Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes another to stumble. 21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything by which yoʋr brother stumbles [fn]or is offended or made weak. 22 [fn]Do yoʋ have a firm belief about these things? Have it privately before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23 But whoever doubts is condemned if he eats, because his action is not based on faith; and anything that is not based on faith is sin.
