BROOD

Term often used in the Bible for young birds, especially of the domestic fowl. See Birds (Fowl, Domestic; Partridge). Also used of snakes or vipers, as a metaphor for “sinners” (Nm 32:14 (RV · LV · Read together); Mt 3:7 (RV · LV · Read together); 12:34 (RV · LV · Read together); Lk 3:7 (RV · LV · Read together)).
