SIN UNTO DEATH*

Sin mentioned in 1 John 5:16; in this verse John discourages prayer for those who sin in this way. Most likely, John was speaking of those who decisively turn their backs upon the truth, as well as those false teachers who deceive the church (Heb 6:4-6; 2 Jn 1:7-9).

OET-RV JN1 5:16

16 If anyone sees a fellow believer committing a forgivable sin, then that person should ask God on their behalf and God will give life to that fellow believer. (But there is a sin that always results in death and I’m not suggesting that we should ask in that case.)

OET-LV JN1 5:16

16 If anyone may_see the brother of_him sinning a_sin not to death, he_will_be_requesting and he_will_be_giving life to_him, to_the ones sinning not to death.
There_is a_sin to death, I_am_ not _saying that he_may_ask concerning that sin.

OET-RV HEB 6:4

4 It’s impossible for those who’ve understood this and who’ve tasted the heavenly gift and become partakers of the holy spirit

OET-RV HEB 6:5

5 and who’ve tasted God’s message and the powers of the coming age

OET-RV HEB 6:6

6 and who’ve fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. It’s like they themselves are executing God’s son again and publicly shaming him.

OET-LV HEB 6:4

4 For/Because impossible it_is the ones once having_been_enlightened, and having_tasted of_the gift the heavenly, and partakers having_been_become of_the_spirit holy,

OET-LV HEB 6:5

5 and the_good having_tasted of_god the_message, and the_powers of_the_coming age,

OET-LV HEB 6:6

6 and having_fallen_away, again to_be_renewing them to repentance, executing_on_a_stake in_themselves the son of_ the _god, and publicly_shaming him.

OET-RV JN2 1:7

7 because many false preachers have entered the world who don’t believe that Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus) is the messiah who came as a human. Any person like that is a deceiver and against the messiah.

OET-RV JN2 1:8

8 So make sure that you all don’t lose what you’ve worked for, but rather go on to receive a full reward.

OET-RV JN2 1:9

9 Anyone who doesn’t stay with the messiah’s teaching or adds more to it doesn’t have God—it’s the person who continues in the teaching that has both the father and the son with them.

OET-LV JN2 1:7

7 Because many deceivers came_out into the world, the ones not confessing Yaʸsous chosen_one/messiah coming in flesh.
This one is the deceiver and the anti-messiah.

OET-LV JN2 1:8

8 Be_seeing yourselves that you_all_may_ not _lose what things you_did, but you_all_may_take_back a_ full _reward.

OET-LV JN2 1:9

9 Everyone which going_beyond and not remaining in the teaching of_the chosen_one/messiah, is_ not _having god, the one remaining in the teaching, this one is_having both the father and the son.
