Song 112/The happiness of good person

Psa 112:1–10

112Praise Yahweh.

א (Alef)

Any person who respects Yahweh’s instructions will be blessed

ב (Beyt)

anyone who greatly delights in his commands.

ג (Gimel)

2Their descendants on earth will be powerful.

ד (Dalet)

The descendants of the godly person will be blessed.

ה (He)

3Wealth and riches are in their house.

ו (Vav)

Their righteousness will endure forever.

ז (Zayin)

4Light shines in the darkness for the godly person.

ח (Het)

That person is gracious, merciful, and just.

ט (Tet)

5It goes well for the person who deals graciously and lends money,

י (Yod)

who conducts their affairs with honesty,

כ (Kaf)

6because they’ll never be shaken.

ל (Lamed)

The godly person will be remembered forever.

מ (Mem)

7That person’s not afraid of bad news

נ (Nun)

confidently trusting in Yahweh.

ס (Samek)

8Their heart is tranquil, without fear,

ע (Ayin)

ending up looking out in triumph over their adversaries.

פ (Pe)

9That person gives generously to the poor.

צ (Tsade)

Their righteousness endures forever.

ק (Qof)

They will be commended with honour.

ר (Resh)

10The wicked person will see this and be angry.

ש (Sin/Shin)

That person will grind his teeth in rage and will melt away.

ת (Tav)

The desire of the wicked people will perish.
