27 However Menasheh’s (Manasseh) descendants didn’t drive out those living in Beyt-Shean, Ta’anak, Dor, Yivleam, or Megidon, because the Kena’anim (Canaanites) were determined to keep living there.[ref] 28 (Later, the Israelis became stronger and they forced the Kena’anim to work for them as their slaves, but they didn’t drive them out.) 29 Nor did Efrayim’s (Ephraim) descendants drive the Kena’anim out of Gezer, so they continued to live among them.[ref]

30 Zevulun’s descendants didn’t drive the Kena’anim out of Kitron or Nahalal, so they continued to live among them and were forced to work as slaves.

31 Asher’s descendants didn’t drive out those who were living in Ako, Tsidon (Sidon), Ahlav, Akziv, Helbah, Afek, or Rehov, 32 So Asher’s descendants lived with the Kena’anim who still lived in the region because they didn’t drive them out.

33 Naftali’s (Naphtali) descendants didn’t drive out those who were living in Beyt-Shemesh (Heliopolis) or Beyt-Anat, so they continued to live among them and were forced to work as slaves.

34 The Amorim forced Dan’s descendants to live in the hill country, because they didn’t allow them to come down to the plains. 35 The Amorim were determined to live at Mt. Heres, in Ayalon and Sha’alvim (but when Yosef’s (Joseph) descendants became stronger, they forced the Amorim to work as slaves). 36 The Amorim border went from the Scorpion Pass through Sela and upward from there.
