4:1 False teachings, including what not to eat
4 But the spirit is expressly saying that in later times, some will pull back from their faith, listening instead to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons.2 After suppressing their own consciences, they’ll become hypocritical liars,3 telling people not to get married and to keep away from foods that God created for faithful people who know the truth to be able to eat with thankfulness.4 Every creature made by God is good and nothing should be rejected but rather be received with thanksgiving5 because it’s made acceptable by God’s declaration and by prayer.
