οἰκοδομή

Strong’s: G3619

Associated OET lemmas: οἰκοδομή

Notes: οἰκοδομή[a] may be interpreted as a derivative of οἰκοδομέω[a] to construct (45.1: κατασκευάζω / 45.1: οἰκοδομέω), or the latter may be interpreted as a causative derivative of οἰκοδομή[a], with the meaning to cause a building to exist. In view of the highly generic nature of οἰκοδομή[a], it is perhaps better to interpret it as a derivative of the corresponding event expression (45.1: κατασκευάζω / 45.1: οἰκοδομέω) since this seems to be the predominant pattern of derivative correspondences. But because of the obvious material form of constructions as buildings, οἰκοδομή[a] is introduced into Domain 7 as a generic for all the other meanings.
