10:6 The making again of bad of Israelis

6 The Israelis continued to do what Yahweh considered evil: they worshipped the Ba’als, the Ashtarot, the gods of Aram (Syria), the gods of Tsidon (Sidon), the gods of Moav (Moab), the gods of the sons of Amon, and the gods of the Pelishtim. They forsook Yahweh and didn’t serve him. 7 Yahweh was very angry with Yisrael (Israel), so he allowed the Pelishtim and the Amonim to harass them. 8 They shattered and oppressed the Israelis that year, but it went on for eighteen years for all the Israelis who were on the opposite side of the Yarden (Jordan) in the land of the Amorim, which is in the Gilead. 9 Then the Amonim also crossed over the Yarden to fight against Yehudah (Judah), against Benyamin, and against the half-tribe of Efrayim (Ephraim).

This caused incredible distress for the Israelis 10 so they cried out to Yahweh, “We have sinned against you, because we have abandoned our god and we have served the Ba’als.”

11 “Wasn’t it from the Mitsrim (Egyptians),” Yahweh responded, “from the Amorim, from the Amonim, from the Pelishtim, 12 the Tsidonim (Sidonians) and Amalek and Maeon, when they oppressed you that you cried out to me, and I rescued you all from them? 13 Yet you’ve all abandoned me and served other gods. Therefore, I won’t not continue to rescue you. 14 Go and cry out to the gods that you’ve all chosen for yourselves. They should deliver you all at the time of your distress.”

15 Then the Israelis said to Yahweh, “We’ve sinned. You do to us according to all that is good in your eyes. Only please rescue us today.” 16 They removed the foreign gods from among them, and they worshipped Yahweh and so he became concerned with Yisrael’s (Israel) suffering.

17 Now the Amonim had assembled and were camped in Gilead. So the Israelis gathered together and they camped at Mitspah. 18 Then the princes of Gilead said to each other, “Who will lead us to fight against the Amonim? He can become the leader over all of us who live in Gilead.”

7 And_ the _anger of_YHWH _it _glowed/burnt on_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) and_he_sold _them in_the _hand _of the_Pəlishtiy and_in_the _hand _of the _people _of ˊAmmōn.

8 And_they _shattered and_they _crushed DOM the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) in_year (the)_that eight- teen year[s] DOM all _of the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) who were_on_the _other _side _of the _Yardēn/(Jordan) in_land the_ʼAmorī which is_in_Gilˊād.

9 And_ the _people _of ˊAmmōn _they _passed _over DOM the_Yardēn to_fight also against_Yəhūdāh/(Judah) and_against_Binyāmīn and_against_the _house _of ʼEfrayim and_it _was _distress to_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) exceedingly.

10 And_ the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) _they _cried _out to YHWH to_say we _have _sinned to/for_you(fs) and_because/when we _have _abandoned DOM god _of_our and_we _have _served DOM the_Baˊal.

11 And_ YHWH _he/it _said to the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) not from_Miʦrayim/(Egypt) and_from the_ʼAmorī and_from the _people _of ˊAmmōn and_from the_Pəlishtiy.

12 And_the_Tsīdonī/(Sidonians) and_ˊAmālēq and_Māˊōn they _oppressed you(pl) and_you(pl)_cried _out to_me and_I_delivered you(pl) from_hand _of_their.

13 And_you(pl) you(pl)_have _abandoned me and_you(pl)_have _served gods other for_so/thus/hence not I _will _repeat to_deliver you(pl).

14 Go and_cry _out to the_ʼElohīm which you(pl)_have _chosen (in)_them they let _them _deliver to/for_you(pl) at_the _time _of your _distress _of_your(pl).

15 And_ the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) _they _said to YHWH we _have _sinned you do to/for_us according_to _all _of the_good in_eyes _of_your only deliver_us please the_day (the)_this.

16 And_they _removed DOM the _gods _of (the)_foreignness from_midst _of_their and_they _served DOM YHWH and_ self _of_his _it _was _short at_the _trouble _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).

17 And_ the _people _of ˊAmmōn _they _were _summoned and_they _encamped in_Gilˊād and_ the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) _they _gathered and_they _encamped at_Miʦpāh.

18 And_ the_people the _leaders _of Gilˊād _they _said each to his/its_neighbour who the_man who he _will _begin to_fight against_the _people _of ˊAmmōn he _will _become (into)_chief to_all/each/any/every the _inhabitants _of Gilˊād.
