2 I urge, therefore, first of all, for requests, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings to be made for all men, 2 for kings and all the ones being in authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator of God and of men—the man Christ Jesus, 6 the one having given himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in its own times, 7 for which I was made a herald and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ, I am not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and argument, 9 likewise women to adorn themselves in proper attire, with modesty and self-control, not in braids and gold, or pearls, or expensive clothing, 10 but what befits women professing godliness, through good works. 11 Let a woman learn in quietness, in all submission. 12 But I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in quietness. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve, 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, came into transgression. 15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if they remain in faith and love and holiness with self-control.
