God’s glory leaves Yerushalem

Eze 11:22–25

22Then the winged creatures lifted up their wings and the wheels that were beside them, and the brilliant light of Yisrael’s God was up high over them.[ref] 23Then it went up from the centre of the city and sat above the mountain to the east of the city. 24The spirit lifted me up and brought me into Chaldea (Babylonia) to the exiles, in the vision from the God’s spirit, and the vision that I’d been seeing left me, 25and I told the exiles everything Yahweh had shown me.

Eze 43:2-5:

2Wow! The splendour of Israel’s God of Israel appeared to the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing water, and the land shone with his brilliance.[ref] 3What I saw in this vision was like what I had seen in my earlier visions, first by the Kevar Canal, then later when he[fn] came to destroy Yerushalem. I fell to my knees with my face to the ground. 4So Yahweh’s brightness entered into the temple via the eastern entrance.

5Then the spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and wow, Yahweh’s brilliance was filling the temple.

43:3 It’s only one letter difference, but the Hebrew has ‘I’ here which seems wrong and is adjusted in some later manuscripts.

43:2: Eze 10:3-4,18-19; 11:22-23; Rev 1:15.
