God’s mercy is for everyone

Rom 11:25–32

25Brothers and sisters, I don’t want you to be ignorant of this mystery, otherwise you might end up becoming proud: There’s a partial hardening coming to the Jews until the fullness of the non-Jews comes, 26and then all the Jews will be saved, as it’s been written:[ref]

‘The rescuer will be coming out of Tsiyyon/Zion.

He will drive ungodliness away from Yacob.

27And this is my agreement with them,[ref]

whenever I might take away their sins.’

28Concerning the good message, the Jews are enemies for your sake, but concerning being chosen, they’re loved because of their ancestors, 29because God’s gifts and his invitation are irrevocable. 30You non-Jews didn’t originally believe in God, but now you’ve been shown mercy because of the disbelief of these Jews. 31Those Jews disbelieved so that as you receive mercy, they can also now be shown mercy, 32because God imprisoned them all in disbelief so that he could show mercy to everyone.

Collected OET-RV cross-references

Isa 59:20-21 (LXX):

20Then a redeemer will come to Tsiyyon (Zion)

≈ and to those descendants of Yakov (Jacob) who repent of their disobedience.

That’s what Yahweh declares.

21Then Yahweh says:

This is my agreement with them.

My spirit which is on you and my messages that I’ve put in your mouth,

they won’t leave your mouth or the mouths of your descendants,

even the distant generations from now and forever onwards.

That is Yahweh’s declaration.

Isa 27:9 (LXX):

9So Yakob’s disobedience will be made right again by that,

and this is all the fruit of the removal of his sin:

when he’ll make all the altar stones like pulverised pieces of chalk.

No Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing,
