4:12 Yeshua begins his ministry

(Mark 1:14-15; Luke 4:14-15)

12 When Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus) heard that Yohan (John; Grk. Yoannes) had been arrested,[ref] he withdrew up to Galil. 13 Then he moved from Nazaret (Nazareth) across to Kafarnaoum (Capernaum) beside the lake,[ref] in the regions that had been given to the tribes of Zevulun and Naftali (Naphtali), 14 so that what had been written by the prophet Yeshayah (Isaiah) would come true,

15 ‘Land of Zevulun and land of Naftali,

the way of the sea beyond the Yarden (Jordan) river;

Galil of the non-Jews.

16 The people sitting in darkness

saw a powerful light,

and those sitting in a land under the shadow of death

had a light rise over them.’[ref]

17 From then onwards, Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus) started preaching and telling people to turn from their sins because the heavenly kingdom is close.[ref]
