The Letter to the Church in Thyatira

The Letter to the Church in Thyatira

18“To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: ‘These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like a flame of fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze: 19I know yoʋr works, yoʋr love and [fn]faith, yoʋr service and [fn]endurance, and that yoʋr latter works are greater than the ones yoʋ did at first. 20But I have [fn]this against yoʋ: Yoʋ [fn]tolerate [fn]yoʋr wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess while teaching and seducing my servants to commit fornication and eat food sacrificed to idols. 21I gave her time to [fn]repent, but she refuses to repent of her fornication. 22Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent from [fn]her works. 23I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you according to your works. 24But to [fn]the rest of you who are in Thyatira, who do not hold to this teaching and have not learned what some call the deep things of Satan—to you I say: I [fn]place no further burden upon you. 25Only hold fast to what you have until I [fn]come. 26To him who overcomes and keeps my works to the end, I will give authority over the nations, 27and he will rule them with a rod of iron; like earthen vessels they [fn]will be shattered, just as I have received authority from my Father. 28I will also give him the morning star. 29He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.’
