Note: This view shows ‘verses’ which are not natural language units and hence sometimes only part of a sentence will be visible. Normally the OET discourages the reading of individual ‘verses’, but this view is only designed for doing comparisons of different translations. Click on any Bible version abbreviation down the left-hand side to see the verse in more of its context. The OET segments on this page are still very early looks into the unfinished texts of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check these texts in advance before using in public.

2:22, bed: Or, “I will throw her on a sickbed." The Greek text says only "I throw her on a bed," but this is obviously a punishment in the form of an illness. (UBS Handbooks for the New Testament [20 Vols.] [American Bible Society, 2021]. Revelation 2:22).
2:22, her: Later manuscripts read “their.” TR

MSG (20-23)“But why do you let that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet mislead my dear servants into Cross-denying, self-indulging religion? I gave her a chance to change her ways, but she has no intention of giving up a career in the god-business. I’m about to lay her low, along with her partners, as they play their sex-and-religion games. The bastard offspring of their idol-whoring I’ll kill. Then every church will know that appearances don’t impress me. I x-ray every motive and make sure you get what’s coming to you.

2:18-29 The letter to the church in Thyatira confronts Christians who mix Christianity with pagan practices and a worldly lifestyle.
Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy
βάλλω αὐτὴν εἰς κλίνην
˱I˲_/am/_casting her into /a/_bed
Jesus is referring to punishing Jezebel with sickness by association with the bed that she would have to lie on because she was sick. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use an equivalent expression or express the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: [I will punish her by making her gravely ill]
Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis
τοὺς μοιχεύοντας μετ’ αὐτῆς εἰς θλῖψιν μεγάλην
the_‹ones› committing_adultery with her into tribulation great
Jesus is leaving out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. You can supply these words from the context if that would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: [I will throw the ones committing adultery with her into great tribulation]
Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / idiom
τοὺς μοιχεύοντας μετ’ αὐτῆς εἰς θλῖψιν μεγάλην
the_‹ones› committing_adultery with her into tribulation great
Jesus does not mean that he will literally throw the disobedient believers in Thyatira into tribulation. That is, he will not pick them up and heave them through the air. Alternate translation: [I will cause the ones committing adultery with her to experience great tribulation]
