Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

(Zechariah 13:7–9, Mark 14:27–31, Luke 22:31–38, John 13:36–38)

Then Jesus said to them, This very night you vvv will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written:

‘I will strike the Shepherd,

and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’[fn]

32

But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

33

Peter said to Him,“Even if all fall away on account of You, I never will.”

34

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus declared this very night, before [the] rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

35

Peter replied“Even if I have to die with You, vvv vvv I will never deny You.” And all the other disciples said the same thing.
