47 This is a note for the worship leader: of the Korahites wrote psalm.

1 People all over the world, clap your hands!

Shout joyfully to praise God!

2 Everyone should revere Yahweh, who is much greater than any other spirit being.

He rules powerfully over the whole world!

3 He enables us to conquer people groups that oppose us.

4 He loved our ancestor Jacob,

and so he chose this land to be our possession.

We are proud of the land he gave us. Selah

5 People have acclaimed Yahweh their God as their king

by shouting and blowing ram’s horns.

6 Sing songs to praise God our King!

Yes, sing songs to praise him!

7 Do that because God rules the whole world.

Sing a special song about that.

8 God rules over all people groups.

He rules them completely fairly, not the way many human kings do.

9 The rulers of the people groups will assemble

to join those who worship the same God whom Abraham worshiped.

They will do that because the leaders of the world must obey God.

He is the supreme ruler of the world.
