UST PSA Chapter 41

41 Note for the worship leader: this psalm.

1 What a good life those people have who help powerless people!

When bad things happen to them, Yahweh will rescue them.

2 Yahweh will protect them

and people will see that things turn our well for them as they live in the land.

Yahweh, please do not let their enemies do what they want with them.

3 Yahweh will strengthen them when they are sick;

Yahweh, you completely restore them whenever they become ill.

4 As for me, I said, “Yahweh, please be merciful to me and heal me.

I am sick because I have sinned against you.”

5 My enemies say hateful things about me;

they say, “We want him to die so that everyone will forget him!”

6 Whenever one of them comes to visit me, he says things that mean nothing.

He secretly collects harmful information,

then he goes outside and tells it to everyone.

7 Everyone who hates me whispers about me to one another;

they plot how to harm me.

8 They say about me, “Something terrible has happened to him,

and he will never get up from where he is lying.”

9 Even my closest friend, the one I trusted,

who shared meals with me,

has greatly betrayed me.

10 However, Yahweh, please be merciful to me and make me well,

so that I can do to them what they did to me.

11 When you do this, I will know that you are pleased with me,

when my enemies will not be able to defeat me and so cannot rejoice about it.

12 As for me, you have helped me because I live honestly,

and you will allow me to be with you forever.

13 We should all praise Yahweh, the God whom the people of Israel worship!

People should praise him at all times, now and forever!

Yes, let it be so!
