UST PSA Chapter 66

This is a note for the worship leader: This is a song, a psalm.

Everyone on earth should shout joyfully to praise God!

2 They should sing songs that tell how glorious God is

and how much he deserves praise for being glorious.

3 Everyone should tell God, “You do such amazing things!

You are so powerful

that your enemies come and bow down fearfully in front of you.

4 Everyone on earth should worship you

and sing to praise you

for your excellent character.” Selah

5 Come and consider what God has done!

Think about the amazing things that he has done among people.

6 He made a dry path through the Sea of Reeds

so that our ancestors could walk right through it.

They also walked across the Jordan River when he stopped it from flowing.

After they crossed, they celebrated what God had done,

and we should still celebrate that today.

7 He is so powerful that he rules forever.

He observes what all the people groups do,

so anyone who considers rebelling against him

should not think that he will be able to do that. Selah

8 People from every nation, praise our God!

Praise him loudly so that others will hear you as you praise him.

9 He has kept us alive,

and he has not allowed anyone to destroy us.

10 God, you have allowed us to experience great difficulties in order to make us pure,

just as people put silver in a hot fire so they can purify it.

11 It is as if you allowed someone to catch us in a trap

or made us carry a load that was almost too heavy for us.

12 It is as if you allowed our enemies to trample on us.

We experienced troubles that were like walking through fires and floods.

But now you have brought us to a place where we are safe and have plenty of food.

13 God, I have come to your temple bringing offerings for the priests to burn completely on the altar.

I am doing what I promised to do for you.

14 When I was experiencing great trouble,

I said that I would bring these offerings to you if you rescued me.

15 So I have brought fat sheep to burn on the altar,

and I have also brought bulls and goats.

When they are burning, you will enjoy the smell of the smoke. Selah

16 All you people who deeply respect God, come and listen

as I tell you what he has done for me.

17 I called out to him to help me,

and I praised him as I was praying to him.

18 If I had secretly intended to commit sins,

the Lord would not have done what I asked.

19 But I did not do that,

so God has done what I asked.

20 I praise God

because he did what I asked him to do.

He has continued to be kind to me, as he promised.
