1. KJV form of Jonah in Matthew 12:39-41 and Luke 11:29-32. See Jonah (Person).

Show passage in OET: MAT 12:39–41

OET-RV MAT 12:39

39 “It’s an evil and adulterous generation that’s looking for a sign,” answered Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus), “and no sign will be given to it apart from the sign of the prophet Yonah (Jonah).

OET-RV MAT 12:40

40 Just like Yonah was in the belly of the huge fish for three days and three nights, in the same way, the son of humanity will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

OET-RV MAT 12:41

41 The inhabitants of Nineveh will stand up and condemn this generation on judgement day, because they turned away from their sins when Yonah preached, and look, now there’s someone here who’s greater than Yonah.

OET-LV MAT 12:39

39 But he answering said to_them, A_ evil and adulterous _Generation is_seeking_after a_sign, and a_sign ˓will˒_ not _be_being_given to_it, except not/lest the sign of_Yōnas/(Yōnāh) the prophet.

OET-LV MAT 12:40

40 For/Because as Yōnas was in the belly of_the huge_fish three days and three nights, thus the son of_ the _man will_be three days and three nights in the heart of_the earth.

OET-LV MAT 12:41

41 The_ Nineuitaʸs/(ones_from_Nīnəvēh) _men will_be_standing_up in the judgement with the this generation, and they_will_be_condemning it, because they_repented at the proclamation of_Yōnas, and see, one_greater than Yōnas is here.

OET-RV LUK 11:29

29 The crowds had grown even larger, but Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus) told them, “This generation is evil because they’re requesting a miracle and the only miracle that will be given to them will be the miracle of Yonah (Jonah).

OET-RV LUK 11:30

30 In the same way that Yonah became a sign to the citizens of Nineveh, so too the son of humanity will also be to this generation.

OET-RV LUK 11:31

31 The queen from the south will come back to life on judgement day along with the people from this generation, and she’ll condemn them, because she travelled a long distance to hear Shelomoh’s (Solomon) wisdom, and now, someone’s here who’s greater than Shelomoh.

OET-RV LUK 11:32

32 The people of Nineveh will stand up on judgement day along with the people from this generation and they’ll condemn this generation because those from Nineveh turned from their disobedience after Yonah’s preaching, and now, someone’s here who’s greater than Yonah.

OET-LV LUK 11:29

29 And the crowds being_increased, he_began to_be_saying:
- this generation is evil generation, it_is_seeking a_sign and a_sign ˓will˒_ not _be_being_given to_it, except not/lest the sign of_Yōnas/(Yōnāh).

OET-LV LUK 11:30

30 For/Because as Yōnas became a_sign to_the Nineuitaʸs/(ones_from_Nīnəvēh), thus the son of_ the _man also will_be to_ the this _generation.

OET-LV LUK 11:31

31 The_queen of_the_south will_be_being_raised at the judgement with the men the this generation, and will_be_condemning them, because she_came from the ends of_the earth to_hear the wisdom of_Solomōn/(Shəlmoh), and see, one_greater than Solomōn is here.

OET-LV LUK 11:32

32 Nineuitaʸs/(ones_from_Nīnəvēh) men will_be_standing_up at the judgement with the this generation, and they_will_be_condemning it, because they_repented at the proclamation of_Yōnas, and see, one_greater than Yōnas is here.

2. KJV form of John, Simon Peter’s father, in John 21:15, 17 OET JHN 21:15 · OET JHN 21:17. See John (Person) #1.

Show passage in OET: JHN 21:15; JHN 21:17

OET-RV JHN 21:15

15 While they were eating, Yeshua (Jesus; Grk. Yesus) asked Shim’on (Simon) Kefa (Peter; Grk. Petros), “Shim’on, son of Yohan (John; Grk. Yoannes), do you love me more than these?”
¶ Kefa answered, “Yes, master, you know that I love you.”
¶ Yeshua responded, “Feed my lambs.”

OET-RV JHN 21:17

17 Then he asked a third time, “Shim’on, son of Yohan, do you love me?”
¶ Kefa was now upset that he’d been asked a third time if he loved him, and he answered, “Master, you know everything.”
¶ “Feed my sheep,” Yeshua responded.

OET-LV JHN 21:15

15 Therefore when they_ate_lunch, the Yaʸsous is_saying to_ the _Simōn Petros:
Simōn son of_Yōannaʸs, are_you_loving me more than these?
He_is_saying to_him:
Yes, master, you have_known that I_am_loving you.
He_is_saying to_him:
Be_feeding the lambs of_me.

OET-LV JHN 21:17

17 He_is_saying to_him the third time:
Simōn son of_Yōannaʸs, are_you_loving me?
the Petros was_sorrowed because he_said to_him the third time:
Are_you_loving me?
And he_is_saying to_him:
master, you have_known all things, you are_knowing that I_am_loving you.
Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) is_saying to_him:
Be_feeding the lambs of_me.
