This page contains selected passages from the Open English Translation with the passage from the OET Readers’ Version on the left, and the OET Literal Version on the right. Minimal commentary is included (only some headings)—our aim is simply to conveniently list the passages in one place so that our readers can make up their own minds about what the writer of the passage was intending to communicate.
22 But now that you’re all free from the bondage of sin and enslaved to God instead, you bear the fruit of holiness and the end result of that is living forever, 23 because the wages of sin is death, but God gives eternal life as a gift through our master Yeshua Messiah.
22 [ref]We can be made right with God through faith in Yeshua Messiah. This is for everyone who believes because there’s no distinction between Jews and others 23 because everyone has sinned and is unable to be honoured by God.
14 [ref]“Just like Mosheh lifted up that bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, it’s also necessary for humanity’s child to be lifted up,[fn] 15 so that everyone who believes in him won’t die, but will live forever.[fn] 16 Because in that same way, God loves the people of the world enough to cause his only son to be born and to give him to the world, so that everyone who believes this will not die, but will go on to live forever.

19 I tell off and discipline those that I love, so be earnest and turn away from your disobedience.[ref] 20 Yes, I stand at the door and knock—if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he’ll eat with me. 21 Anyone who overcomes, I’ll give the right to sit with me on my throne, just like when I conquered and sat with my father on his throne.
