13 [was]_a _son of _a _year Shāʼūl in/on/at/with_reign_he and_two years he _reigned over Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel).

5 And_Philistines they _gathered to_fight with Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) thirty thousand chariot[s] and_six thousand(s) horsemen and_troops as _as _the_sand which [is]_on the _shore the_sea to_increase _in _number and_came _up and_camped in/on/at/with_Michmash the _east house _of wwww.
6 And_men of _Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) they _saw DOM_that it _was _distress to_him/it DOM it _was _hard _pressed the_troops and_hid the_people in/on/at/with_caves and_in/on/at/with_thickets and_in/on/at/with_rocks and_in/on/at/with_tombs and_in/on/at/with_cisterns.
7 And_Hebrews they _passed _over DOM the_Yarəddēn the _land of _Gād and_Giləˊād and_Shāʼūl still_he in/on/at/with_Gilgal and_all the_people they _trembled followed_him.
8 And_waited[fn] seven days according _to _the_appointed _time which Shəmū^ʼēl and_not he _had _come Shəmū^ʼēl the_Gilgal and_he/it _scattered the_people from_with_him.

11 And_he/it _said Shəmū^ʼēl what have _you _done and_he/it _said Shāʼūl DOM I _saw DOM_that it _was _scattered the_people from_with_me and_you(ms) not you _had _come within_appointed the_days and_Philistines [were]_gathering Micmash.
12 And_said now they _will _come _down [the]_Philistines to_me the_Gilgal and_favour of _Yahweh not I _have _entreated and_forced and_offered the_burnt _offering.
13 and_he/it _said Shəmū^ʼēl to Shāʼūl you _have _acted _foolishly not you _have _kept DOM the _commandment of _Yahweh god_your which commanded_you DOM now he _established Yahweh DOM kingdom_your to Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) until perpetuity.
14 And_now kingdom_your not it _will _endure he _has _sought Yahweh to_him/it a _man after_heart_his _own and_appointed_him Yahweh as_ruler over people_his DOM not you _have _kept DOM [that]_which commanded_you Yahweh.
15 and_he/it _rose _up Shəmū^ʼēl and_he/it _ascended from the_Gilgal Gibeah of _Binəyāmīn and_counted Shāʼūl DOM the_people the_present with_him/it about_six hundred(s) man.
16 And_Shāʼūl and_Yōnātān his/its_son and_the_people the_present with_them [were]_remaining in/on/at/with_Geba of _Binəyāmīn and_Philistines they _encamped in/on/at/with_Michmash.
17 And_he/it _went _out the_raiders from_camp of _[the]_Philistines three companies the_company one it _turned to the _direction of _Ophrah to the _land of _Shūˊal.
18 And_the_company one it _turned the _direction house _of wwww and_the_company one it _turned the _direction the_border the_overlooking over wwww wwww the_wilderness_toward.
19 and_blacksmith not he _was _found in/on/at/with_all the _land of _Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) DOM they _said[fn][fn] [the]_Philistines lest they _should _make the_Hebrews a _sword or a _spear.
20 And_went _down all Yisərā^ʼēl/(Israel) the_Philistines to_sharpen each _man DOM plowshare_their and_DOM mattocks_his and_DOM axes_his and_DOM sickles_his.
21 And_was the_charge two _thirds _of _a _shekel for _the_plowshares and_for _the_mattocks and_for_one-third fork and_for_the_axes and_for_setting the_goads.
22 And_it _was in/on_day of _battle and_not it _was _found a _sword and_spear in/on/at/with_hand of _all the_people which [was]_with Shāʼūl and_DOM Yōnātān and_had with_Shāʼūl and_with_Yōnātān his/its_son.
23 And_he/it _went _out the _garrison of _[the]_Philistines to the _pass of _Micmash.
